There is a way to play with a keyboard and mouse, simply yous owe information technology to yourself to play this game with a controller.
I don't have a controller right at present and non planning on getting one before long, but , I am thinking of getting the game while information technology is on sale.
don't worry, I recommend playing in any mode that is comfy (for me that'southward keyboard and mouse). I've logged over 140+ hours solely on the keyboard and mouse. The merely real difficult thing to get the hang of is the camera controls, they're a lilliputian shaky but not at all impossible to get used to.
As Rise said yous can get DSfix which just... fixes night souls haha. Y'all can also become DSMfix which is specific for the mouse controls, only I don't personally apply information technology.
i highly recommend the controller, as an former schoolhouse keyboard and mouse guy this is the only game i can say that well-nigh. its built for information technology and works perfectly. i would grab the game and try information technology k+k and get the controller when u tin can

Why couldn't something crazy happen like the developer do some piece of work and improve the keyboard and mouse controls. Yeah, crazy I know! :-)
But seriously, come on devs. Stop doing lazy console ports and put some work in. It tin can be washed, await at Far Cry 3 for instance, which is a very skilful console port. Except for the inventory and card system which screams panel port it plays very well. If we continue rewarding companies for lazy ports they'll merely keep making them.

It's non that From is lazy, they were inexperienced. The community petitioned like crazy to get any kind of PC port. From wasn't going to practise one because they didn't know how to port to PC, just they did information technology for the customs and we should be grateful we got annihilation at all.
Also comparing the blazon of controls it takes for Dark Souls to Far Weep iii is not fair at all. Far Cry 3 is a start person shooter, and while it'south on consoles FPS was made for KBM. Dark Souls is a 3rd person "Action" RPG, there's not a 100% formula to brand that work on PC.
From is going to do a better PC job on Dark Souls 2, just judging them for something they didn't originally desire to exercise is ridiculous.
The guys backside DSfix (overall fixes), DSmFix (Mouse fix) and DScFix (Connectedness fix) are astonishing.
I'yard one of those people who tin can't manage to acquire how to play anything on gamepad or arcade sticks.... Everything I play is on the keyboard and mouse. (Even though I had an Atari, Sega Genesis and PS 1 over my babyhood... I somehow forgot how to use gamepad right).
With the DSfixes it's not an outcome. I've seen people saying keyboard players had a "handicap" on their gameplay... but honestly... I really don't see why. On a keyboard + mouse we have ten fingers available for imputing commands...this actually sounds like an advantage if you lot ask me.
PS: I recollect it'south important to have a mouse with multiple buttons, though.... having a two or iii buttons mouse to play Darksouls probably makes everything much harder.

My just problem with the DEFAULT K/K controls is the mouse acceleration problems, get the dark souls mouse fix which FIXES that problem and the Yard/K controls are every flake as good as the gamepad. Trust me I've played with both for hours and both piece of work FINE!
I'm left handed so it'southward perfectly set out for me :3
My other friends have complained in the past.
I'thousand playing through Dark souls atm (AND ITS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AMAZING IM BECOMING A FANBOY Assist ME!!) and keyboard and mouse work just fine, but be certain to get the piddling mods ^^
I dont take a controller nor accept i always im my life had a console of any type... then yep keyobard and mouse is my desire, and it works merely fine :)
